Subject: Rallies - Advice to Centres

Dear All

I hope this email finds you well and hopeful that the slowly-easing lockdown measures will mean that you may soon be able to be out and about touring or attending rallies.

In my last email to you, I indicated that the Club was working towards a possible re-open date of 4 July for sites in England, in line with the Government’s indicated timeline and when we receive confirmation from them that the leisure and hospitality industry can start to re-open with appropriate measures in place.  Similarly, this would mean that rallies in England could also commence from no earlier than 4 July (for leisure-vehicle siting only – not social activities).  There are no provisional dates identified for Scotland and Wales at this time.

I wanted to reassure you that I am currently in the process of preparing a specific covid-secure protocol/advice note for all Centres to help you with operating any rallies when they can take place.  It has been drafted in accordance with the operating practices that the Club is intending to have in place once it is given the go ahead to open its sites.

I have heard from some of you and I know not only how keen you are to be able to run rallies again, but also how important it is to you to know the Club will be putting in place policies and procedures to provide reassurance to members that steps are being taken to ensure our operations are covid-secure. In a recent survey of Club members, we heard that members want the Club to have clear social distancing guidelines (87%) as well as clear sanitation and cleaning policies (86%) to give them the extra confidence to stay on our campsites.  These factors are included in the guidance note for rallies which I am intending to issue to you early next week, when it is hoped we may have some more clarity from the Government about timescales.

This email is letting  you know that there is something on the way – you are at the forefront of my mind at the moment and I am happy to try and answer any questions or queries that you might have in advance of receiving the note, which is currently being shared with some Club Committee colleagues for their practical input.

I will be in touch with you all again soon.

Best, Emma
