Rallies are organised by:
The Rally Marshal – the Rally Marshal is the friendly face to greet you when you arrive and who has arranged the weekend for you to enjoy as you wish, exploring the area or joining in any activities that may have been arranged. The choice is yours.
When you book a rally either on line in person or over the telephone you will be asked a few questions Caravan Club membership number, how many adults children etc. Then after you have booked into your rally and the weekend arrives, just follow the directions printed on our website or use the handbook that you will be provided with. As you approach the rally field you will see small yellow direction signs with "Durham Centre" or “DCCC”on them to help you find the entrance.
On arrival you will find the Rally Marshal waiting at their unit, clearly marked "Rally Marshal", you will then be given a programme for the weekend and shown to your pitch. The field is marked out with ample space between caravans for your awning and car. Your Marshall will welcome you and advise you where the fresh water tap and elsan (chemical toilet) disposal points are.
Usually on a Friday we get together and you may be introduced to everyone on the rally and it’s an opportunity to meet friends old and new.
You may find that on a Saturday night your Marshal has arranged some entertainment could be just good old fashion fun and games things we used to play with our families (quiz, bingo, board games etc.)or if its a themed rally Halloween ,Easter for example there may be a social with music and entertainment in a hall or gazebo.
Sunday morning coffee morning usually takes place around 11am you may hear this referred to as ‘flag’. Bring a cup of tea or coffee biscuits are provided this is a social event where you and your fellow ralliers gather to hear results of competitions, welcome visitors, announce forthcoming events and rallies and hear Centre news and importantly thank the Rally Marshalls.
Please feel free to contact any of our centre committee who will be only to pleased to have an informal chat with you and advise you all about our centre and who will make sure that there is someone there on your first rally to meet you and make you feel welcome
Do come along and give it a try – we think you’ll like it!
